Jill and Shallom Berkman founded Urth Caffé in 1989, as a mail order company specializing in selling non-toxic, natural food and drinks. They learned they could make coffee from purely organic coffee trees, completely untainted from chemical substances. After several years of learning how the coffee was brewed and roasted from a farm in Peru, they decided to open their first location with those sustainable and natural principles. And in 2002, the Beverly Hills location of Urth Caffé opened its doors.

With a full menu of options for coffee, food, tea, and desserts, it has become what restaurant reviewer Zagat named a “Quintessential LA Chain." Urth Caffé's Instagram account (@UrthCaffe) features vibrant photos of their signature cups and bowls, which have become a trend to many and liked by thousands.
